Objectives of the center:

  1. Strengthen the application and research of electromechanical systems in the aquatic industry, including: the development and application of electromechanical systems in the aquaculture industry, the development and application of water vehicles and underwater sensors, the development and application of aquaculture electromechanical systems, algae cultivation and biomass energy Development and application of extraction electromechanical system, etc.
  2. Integrate research manpower and resources of aquatic products electromechanical system.
  3. Carry out a cross-field cooperative research plan for aquatic products electromechanical system.
  4. Establish an industry-academic exchange platform for aquatic products electromechanical system.
  5. Promote cross-domain teaching resources for aquatic products electromechanical systems.

Work of the center:

  • Patent of invention by Prof. Wu Zhiwei, a member of the Center: Automated portable real-time total bacterial count detection system and method.
  • Patent of invention by Prof. Wu Chi-wai, a member of the Center, for an automated portable waterborne pathogen detection system and method for detecting pathogenic bacteria in aquatic products.

  • Professor Lin Zhenzhou, a member of the Center, optimized the geometry of the air chamber of the L-shaped oscillating water column wave energy converter to improve its energy capture efficiency, and the oscillating water column wave energy converter to optimize the size of the air chamber to improve its energy capture efficiency.

  • Professor Lin Zhenzhou, a member of the Center, participated in the signing of an MOU between the Center for Ocean Energy Systems, College of Engineering, National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) and Aquanet Power on December 6, 2018, to conduct collaborative research on the company's 500 kW floating wave energy generation system, which is expected to be tested in real waters at NTOU's ocean energy test site by the end of next year.
